Parent Ambassador Program
The National Migrant & Seasonal Head Start Association has partnered with Justice for Migrant Women to provide training, services and advocacy information to agricultural and migrant farmworkers throughout the country. The Parent Ambassador Program is part of this partnership. The Parent Ambassador Program is an 8-week/12-hour training program with each week touching on different substantive issues for the farmworker community.
Purpose
The purpose of this flagship program is to help farm workers develop on substantive issues such: as civic engagement, COVID-19 pandemic response, and advocacy. Through their participation in the program trainings, parent ambassadors will also be provided the opportunity to be heard on a national level. Our goal is for them to be able to use what they learned to provide local training to their families, community members, and to parents within the network.
Goal
Ambassadors will have the knowledge and ability to provide local training to local community/program/ families and will be provided tools to appropriately find their voice and advocate.
