My work placement has opened my mind on the possible issues I can work with. I am excited to see what other projects I will have an opportunity to work on.

Between mentorship, lunches, and an evening at a baseball game the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) team has already helped me grow so much as a person in such a short time. My work placement manager has been extremely welcoming and supportive since the beginning of my internship!

All my life I’ve known how to advocate and network for my parents because of the language barrier. Now it was time to network for myself and create connections in D.C. for my future. It came quite easy to me, but I still had to learn how to properly introduce myself.

Networking has its own challenges and benefits. I’ve already learned so much just by attending certain events, and I am eager to see who else I’ll meet during my time here.

Having an elevator speech has been extremely helpful as I network and navigate my way through DC. Although at first it was intimidating I have found my confidence through it and it has allowed me to see the value in my studies/experiences and gave me a clear vision of who I want to become.
